I wish I would have heard these words...instead, I felt the pain but never got the "I'm sorry that I hurt you....I never meant to make you cry". My abuser "meant to make me cry", that way I was weak and to borrow his word, "Pathetic".... he liked me weak and "pathetic" so he could feel big, powerful, in control...
